In this tutorial, Joe Mason shows you how to create the unique structural look you often see in high impact broadcast graphics. Joe shows you from start to finish just how easy it is to make everything look great. He works in 3D Invigorator but the techniques apply to ProAnimator too. You won’t believe how simple it is to make high quality production graphics.
Topics discussed:
• Illustrator shape setup
• Customizing depth, bevel and edge offset settings in 3D Invigorator.
• Creating materials with different wireframe and reflectivity maps.
• Setting up splits in the Edge Profile editor.
• Alternating materials for each profile split.

Great tutorial, loving the ability to split the shape in order to assign different materials. Great visual outcome. Will re-post this on my blog…..
How could you please recreate something like this as a tutorial on ProAnimator?

Hi James,
Not sure what our next tutorial would be like, but if you wanted to recreate the multi-screen look in ProAnimator, you can create a grid of square shape in Illustrator. Then, import the grid shapes into ProAnimator, and they will be your screens.
Next, apply a video onto a texture map, and apply the texture map onto the screens. The screens should each be playing a section of the video.
For the text, you can just create 3D Text, and animate it where the text flies towards the screen. Apply reflective materials onto the text, and you should be able to get the same effect.
Best,
Edward
Cheers for your help, but I have Cerebral Palsy and just can’t my small brain around how to work with the poses, when will the next version be out as I know it will do away with it. Also will you be able to create your own backgrounds in the next version? This is why I wanted a tutorial on the above video. Sorry cheers
Hi James,
The next version of ProAnimator will still have Poses. If you haven’t had the chance yet, check out the ProAnimator video tutorials and they will cover some of the basics of Poses.
If you are more familiar with After Effects, you can consider using 3D Invigorator Pro, which uses the After Effects keyframes instead.
For background elements, you are able to do that in the current versions. As long as you have the Illustrator elements for backgrounds, you can import them into ProAnimator/3D Invigorator to use as a background. In the newer version, it will be more convenient to create backgrounds because we have a drawing tool built in. This means you can draw simple, or complex shapes directly within the program, and have those shapes be extruded immediately.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Edward
